As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 42 Pipra (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Pipra and Kishanpurcommunity development blocks; Veena, Laudh, Karhio, Amha, Hardi East and Hardi West gram panchayats of Supaul CD Block.[1]
Pipra (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 8 Supaul (Lok Sabha constituency).[1]

In the November 2010 state assembly elections, Sujata Devi of JD(U) won the Pipra, Supaul assembly seat, defeating her nearest rival Dinbandhu Yadav of LJP.[2]
